Imaging capabilities of the piano in the context of pitch and dynamics
Abstract
The purpose of this work is to analyze the imaging capabilities of the piano through specific components of musical matter. Emphasis is placed on the properties of sound as the main concept of creating a composition, namely on the concept of pitch and dynamics. Scientific sources corresponding to the topic of the work were analyzed, which allowed to determine the main problems that need to be studied, namely, the study of the features of sound as a carrier of an emotional concept, the content of which is revealed according to its specific components. The article considers that musical material forms a coded reality by modeling emotional subject-situational components. At the same time, the sound, through its practical implementation, conveys certain information that ensures the system of existence of a musical work within the limits of a specific era and cannot be without a specific content and image color. In accordance with the topic and issues of the study, scientific interpretations of the properties of piano sound, dynamics and pitch were analyzed, as well as the results of an experiment on an individual's reaction to musical material (experiment by S. Kamenetskyi, S. Tregub and D. Hill) were studied. It has been established that sound patterns (patterns, forms) depending on their dynamic development, as well as pitch characteristics and their presentation depending on the musical phrase, are a demonstration of the expressive state of a person in accordance with his life experience. It was found that the imaging capabilities of the piano are based on a combination of variable and constant components. It was determined that the dynamics of the work are more dependent on the interpreter of the musical work and is more subjective in nature and appear more secondary as a sound-imaging principle, accordingly, the pitch is fixed by the composer and is decisive for creating of the overall picture of the existence of a musical work. That allows having a greater influence on the emotional state of the recipient-listener.
