Keywords: circus, animal training, predators, arena, artist

Abstract

The training and communication of people and animals has thousands of years of history. This is a area that has really long roots and rich traditions. During the last century, a lot of studies of this phenomenon of circus art have been created, but, unfortunately, the domestic humanities, even today, are almost devoid of deep scientific developments in this area. High-quality texts can be created by those authors only who are well versed in training, valuable are the developments of those who have devoted many years to the circus and are professional practitioners. Therefore, among the main aims is the actualization of serious problems of the circus industry, among which is the existence and state of animal training in the modern circus. The idea of the need to ban the use of animals in circuses and the myth of the constant abuse of them is popular today. Often this idea is exploited in their own interests by people who don’t understand the matter and aren’t professionals in he circus, unsubstantiatedly accusing the entire circus community of the lack of humane treatment of animals and decent conditions for their stay in the circus. The animals training in a circus is a unique sphere. It became the destiny of people who selflessly devoted their whole lives to it. And now, when the protests against the presence of animals in the circus continue, when the traditions and the show itself of the traditional circus are being destroyed, it is thoughtless, if you do not know the history, to ban everything. If we ban using of horses in the circus, then the very notion of an arena as a stage will disappear. The circus will cease to be a circus. Because many types of shows don't need an arena. She was born specifically for the equestrian circus. And our last hope is to preserve horses as a relict memory of the old traditional circus.
