BALLET AND CIRCUS NEOCLASSICAL: PROCESSES OF INTEGRATION, SYNTHESIS AND TRANSFORMATION
Abstract
Purpose of the article is related to the systematic consideration of the characteristics of the choreographic culture of circus choreographic and acrobatic miniatures on the cord-de-parel from the standpoint of neoclassical ballet art. The historical process of integration of ballet forms into circus art and directions of their style transformation in the special stage conditions of the circus of the present stage is traced. Scientific novelty consists in revealing the stylistic identity and affinity of the basic artistic and technological principles of ballet neoclassics and the circus genre of air gymnastics on the cord-de-parel. The methodology of the research is based on the application of a comprehensive approach to the study of the choreographic culture of adjacent arts. In addition, empirical, descriptive and general scientific methods of comparative analysis and synthesis are used. The choreographic culture in the process of evolution was enriched by the effects of interspecific interaction of arts: from the rooting of trick elements in the ballet – to the present stage of the flowering of ballet culture in circus art, which influenced its stylistic peculiarity in time-spatial dynamics. Directions of synthesis of circus art and ballet are observed in the basic parameters of style and means of expressiveness of the genre of air gymnastics on the cord-de-parel. Architectonics of similar duet numbers of Ukrainian circus actors is based on the ballet principles of Pas de deux: climbing a rope close to the neoclassic entree; acrobatic figures «flag», «swirling», «sag» and «arrow» - variations of soloists, special vertical rotational descent on canvas – «fuete». Plasticity, rhythm, expression is due to musical accompaniment and is at the intersection of two vectors – contemporary dance and circus gymastics, expressed in tricks. The technique of their aerial performance in the vertical plane (unlike the horizontal − in the ballet), demonstrates a new optics of perception.
