SCENOGRAPHY OF DESIGN OF THE ENVIRONMENT

Abstract

The article discusses the using of the experience of scenography in the design of the environment. The scene of the Greek theatre is analyzed. The ratio of theatre, stage and decoration forms, as well as their impact on the viewer are studied. The same categories are considered in Roman theatre. It forms as a closed space to attract the viewer 's attention as much as possible. In Greek and Roman theatre, the viewer is included in what happens on stage through vision and hearing. The scenography compensates for the static of the viewer by using the movement of the actors and the choir, using special mechanisms to create special effects. The article considers another type of theatrical performance in which the viewer became a participant. The most common form of such representation was the procession. The article gives examples of theatrical processions and their architectural surroundings.

An important stage in the development of decoration is experiments in the theatre of the late XX – I^st third of the XX^th century. The late XIX^th theatre features naturalistic scenery that repeats the design of the urban environment of the time. The growth of the rhythm of urban life, the emergence of new technical means of communication and movement have led to the decoration taking a dynamic appearance. The decoration of the theatre of the first third of the XX^th century was influenced by vanguard currents in art. The motives of industrial architecture are brought to theatre performances by representatives of constructivism. The theatrical decoration of the late XX^th century is created by projection equipment with the help of digital equipment. Projections created from real-life photographs, video fragments, virtual and graphic images erase the line between the theater's scenery and the urban environment. The medium decoration is formed as volumes in space in the form of synthesis of impressions from urban structures and medium objects. Medium objects, as in the theater of scene decoration, direct movement, create zones of increased emotional impact. Medium-sized design splits the city space into thematic zones with a complex of visual characteristics. The quality of life in these urban areas depends largely on the medium scenery that accompanies life processes.
