Song work of Iryna Kyrilyna

Abstract

The article examines the song work of the composer Iryna Kyrylina, its artistic and artistic significance of the composer's little-known songs. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that, for the first time, an attempt has been made to summarize and analyze the song output of I.Ya. Kirilina. Despite the fact that the research of modern Ukrainian musical art, in particular – pop art, has significantly revived in recent decades, there is still a lack of scientific works dedicated to outstanding composers-songwriters whose mature work falls on the 1980^s-2010^s. Despite the fact that the genre palette of   I.Ya. Kirilina's creative work is extremely multifaceted, attempts to scientifically generalize and analyze the work of the artist have not yet taken place. The compositional style of                              I.Ya. Kirilina took place during a difficult and ambiguous period in the development of our country. However, at the same time, it was a very bright period in the development of Ukrainian music – both academic and popular. Real singing practice of the 70s and 90^s of the 20^th century is a complex polyphony of various stylistic solutions and artistic principles. The embodiment of the most important problems, stylistic and genre diversity, a close connection with traditions and fruitful artistic innovation, a wide convergence and mutual enrichment of the elements of urban and peasant song, which reflects the regularity of their historical development, the organic inclusion of folk intonation in the direction of mass and pop song – these are features that determined the character of the figurative content, means of musical expressiveness, that outlined the leading trends in the development of the song genre in the Ukrainian musical culture of the end of the 20^th century. Characteristic features that appeared during the formation of the song genre in the Ukrainian musical culture of the 70^s and 90s of the 20^th century, such as the strengthening of the lyrical stream, monologicity, the strengthening of the role of the verbal text in the song, the synthesis of folk song material with the principles of modern form creation and jazz improvisation, – manifested themselves in the work of the composer-songwriter Iryna Kirilina, whose work is considered in the article. The results of the research can be used in educational activities, including in courses on the history of Ukrainian music and the history of modern pop and vocal music in art schools and higher art educational institutions.
